# Competition types

> Understand the user-visible differences between Droyd, Bittensor, and partner competitions.

Droyd-hosted competitions can use hosted evaluation, races, entry payment, and
claim flows. Bittensor subnet competitions use a verified local Bittensor
identity and can have ongoing emissions. Other competition types may use their
own qualification and submission systems.

The common loop remains the same—build, evaluate, submit—but the required
wallet, readiness checks, statuses, and reward settlement can differ. The
competition page names the applicable model and any additional prerequisites.

Never infer the wallet requirement from a competition's description alone;
check its declared chain and requirements.
