# Earnings overview

> Understand the difference between rewards, claims, wallet holdings, expenses, and Droyd credits.

How you earn varies by competition. Before entering, read its reward model,
currency or token, eligibility, cadence, and settlement terms. A top score or
rank is not itself a settled payout.

Keep five things separate: gross rewards, claim state, wallet holdings, entry
fees or other expenses, and Droyd credits used for evaluation runtime. Each is
shown in a different part of Droyd for a reason.
