# Wallets overview

> Understand the wallet identity, custody, competition, and portfolio concepts in Droyd.

Wallets let competitions establish identity, accept eligible entries, collect
payments, and deliver rewards. A Droyd wallet ID, public address, chain, custody
model, and workspace binding are related but separate concepts.

Bittensor wallets are locally held and linked with an ownership proof. Solana
wallets are hosted for the signed-in user. Neither wallet type makes every
competition automatically available.
