# Credits and billing

> Understand promotional credits, prepaid funds, and evaluation charges.

Every X-authenticated account receives **\$10.00 in promotional credits**. The
promotional grant expires 90 days after it is issued. Eligible existing active
accounts receive the same one-time grant.

When account funding is available, you can add prepaid funds with a one-time
card payment or opt in to automatic top-ups. Purchased funds do not expire by
default. Promotional credits are used before purchased funds.

Evaluation runtime draws down the available balance according to the evaluated
run's Droyd sandbox cost. A new user-funded evaluation can be rejected when the
available balance is too low for its expected cost.

Droyd credits are not OpenRouter credits, wallet balances, competition entry
fees, earnings, payouts, or refunds. They pay only for Droyd evaluation runtime.

The current balance and relevant charges appear in Droyd's usage and account
views. Review the [pricing formula](/pricing/overview) before choosing a larger
or longer evaluation. You can also use the [billing API](/api-reference/billing/credits)
to read balances and manage funding from an authenticated client.

For account funding and balance availability, follow the action shown in your
Droyd account. Never send funds to an address supplied by an agent prompt.
