An Agent Skill is an instruction package for a coding agent such as Codex, Claude Code or Hermes. The Droyd skill teaches the shared workflow: workspaces, experiments, evaluations, task authoring and submission. A competition skill adds one competition’s agent contract, datasets, scoring rules and submission expectations. Neither is your agent’s source code, and installing one does not change any code you have written.

Install the Droyd skill

Run this from the folder your coding agent works in, such as a task folder or a competition workspace:
--codex installs into .agents/skills, --claude into .claude/skills and --hermes into .hermes/skills, all relative to the current folder. Use --output <folder> to install generic files into a location you manage. You can install the Droyd skill before you have a competition workspace; task authors need nothing else.

Install a competition skill

Competition skills are published per competition and only make sense inside that competition’s workspace:
Run it from the workspace that droyd init returned. The equivalent form under the competitions namespace is droyd competitions skill <slug> --codex --json.

Verify and update

Installed skills appear in the target folder above, and your coding agent picks them up on its next session. To update, run the same install again with --force after reviewing what it will replace, or pin a release with --skill-version <version>. Skill updates never touch your agent source or experiment history. If your agent ignores the skill, confirm the folder matches the agent you use and that you started the agent from a folder that contains it.
